Craftee (“Craftee,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Craftee Marketplace at https://crafteemarket.com. By applying to sell, creating a seller account, listing products, or continuing to sell on the Marketplace, each seller (“Seller” or “you”) acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with this Seller Policy (“Policy”) in full. This Policy forms a legally binding part of the Craftee Seller Terms, Conditions, and Code of Conduct and governs all aspects of participation on the Marketplace.
1. Purpose and Scope
1.1 The purpose of this Policy is to ensure that all sellers meet Marketplace standards, maintain compliance with applicable laws, and provide safe, high-quality handmade or custom products to buyers. This Policy applies to eligibility, onboarding, product standards, order fulfilment, storefront presentation, content, pre-orders and custom orders, ABN and tax compliance, performance monitoring, enforcement, liability, intellectual property, and indemnification. Compliance is mandatory for all sellers and is a condition of ongoing access to the Marketplace.
2. Eligibility and Onboarding
2.1 To participate as a seller, you must be at least eighteen years of age and provide accurate, complete, and current personal and/or business information. Business sellers must provide a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) upon request and comply with all relevant tax obligations, including GST where applicable. Hobbyist sellers may sell without an ABN but remain responsible for reporting income in accordance with Australian law.
2.2 All sellers must submit a complete application through the Marketplace, including product descriptions, photographs or evidence of handmade or customised work, and proof of required insurance. Craftee reserves the right to request additional information or documentation at any time, and approval to sell is granted solely at Craftee’s discretion. Applications may be withdrawn, suspended, or denied if requested information is not provided promptly.
2.3 All product listings are subject to review prior to publication. Review, approval, or rejection may take up to one (1) to two (2) business days per listing, without guarantee. Listings that do not meet marketplace standards may remain unpublished and in a pending status. If a seller is unsure as to why a product may still be pending they must reach out directly at admin@crafteemarket.com for further clarification.
2.4 Approval to sell does not waive ongoing compliance obligations.
2.5 Sellers must respond promptly to requests for additional information, documentation, or verification during the application process.
2.6 If a Seller does not respond to verification requests or application status inquiries within three (3) months, their application will be automatically withdrawn. To reapply, the Seller must submit a new application and follow the full onboarding and verification process.
2.7 For applications denied due to missing, incomplete, or insufficient information, including incomplete insurance documentation, Sellers have twenty-one (21) days from the date of notification to rectify the issue. Failure to do so will result in the application being withdrawn. If the Seller wishes to participate at a later time, they must submit a new application.
2.8 Craftee reserves the right to withdraw, suspend, or deny applications at its sole discretion if required information is not provided within the timeframes above.
3. Insurance
3.1 Sellers are solely responsible for maintaining appropriate insurance coverage, including but not limited to public liability and product liability insurance, throughout their participation on the Marketplace. Proof of insurance must be provided upon request, and any lapse, cancellation, or material change must be immediately reported to Craftee. Failure to maintain valid insurance may result in suspension, restriction, or termination of your seller account, and subscription fees may continue to apply during any suspension.
3.2 Any remaining subscription fees may continue to apply during any period of suspension, and refunds won’t be issued for half used subscriptions.
3.3 Failure to provide valid and current insurance documentation within a reasonable timeframe may result in further action, including continued suspension or termination of the seller account.
4. Product Standards and Compliance
4.1 All products listed on the Marketplace must be physical, handmade, or substantially customised by the seller. Digital, mass-produced, factory-made, resold, dropshipped, or AI-generated products are strictly prohibited. Products must be safe for their intended use and comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws. Sellers must provide accurate descriptions of materials, dimensions, care instructions, safety warnings, and the handmade or customised nature of the product.
4.2 Products that involve customisation of a commercial base item are permitted only if the seller is directly and physically involved in applying an original design. The original design must not be purchased, licensed, stock, or AI-generated. These products must be clearly labeled handcrafted with original design. Gift boxes or bundles may be listed only if all handmade or customised items meet these standards. Sellers are required to retain records of materials, production processes, and safety compliance and provide documentation upon request. The base product used for such items must be plain and undecorated prior to customisation. Pre-decorated, pre-printed, or pre-finished items, as well as items that require only minimal alteration or surface-level decoration without meaningful creative input by the seller, are not permitted.
4.3 Listings for items classified as “Handcrafted with Original Design” must clearly and accurately disclose the creation process, including notice that a commercially manufactured base product was used and that the item is handcrafted with original design rather than handmade from raw materials. Any misrepresentation of the nature, origin, or method of creation of an item may result in removal of the listing and further action in accordance with Craftee’s Seller Policies.
4.4 Sellers are prohibited from listing digital or AI-generated products, including e-books, software, downloadable content, digital templates, courses, music, or AI-created designs or text.
4.5 Sellers may not list mass-produced, factory-made, drop-shipped, or resold items purchased from third parties, or any items not personally created or crafted by the seller.
4.6 Illegal, unsafe, or restricted items, including weapons, firearms, explosives, controlled substances, illegal drugs, recalled or banned products, food or consumable items, or products violating intellectual property rights, are strictly forbidden.
4.7 Listings containing offensive or inappropriate content, items promoting hate, violence, discrimination, pornography, or sexually explicit material, or those containing offensive or prohibited words, phrases, or designs in any font style, including cursive, are not allowed.
4.8 Sellers are solely responsible for determining and ensuring product compliance in every jurisdiction where their products are sold or shipped.
5. Storefront Presentation and Content
5.1 Sellers must maintain professional storefronts, including clear branding, organised product categories, and accurate shop policies. Listings must include truthful titles, descriptions, and images, and may not contain offensive, misleading, infringing, or otherwise unlawful content. Craftee reserves the right to review, approve, restrict, or remove any listings or storefronts that fail to meet these standards. Sellers may appeal removals by providing evidence of compliance to admin@crafteemarket.com, but appeals may not guarantee reinstatement.
5.2 Where possible, Craftee will notify sellers when content is removed, including the reason for removal, required corrections, next steps for reinstatement, and information regarding appeals.
5.3 Craftee may remove content without prior notice if immediate action is required to protect the platform or its users.
5.4 Sellers may appeal content removal by submitting their shop or seller name, the URL of the removed listing, an explanation of why removal was incorrect, evidence supporting compliance, and any relevant clarifications. Appeals must be sent to admin@crafteemarket.com and will be reviewed at Craftee’s discretion. Not all listings will be reinstated.
5.5 Repeat or severe violations may result in account restrictions, suspension, or permanent termination, with Craftee considering the number, severity, and intent of violations, as well as the user’s past behaviour and cooperation.
5.6 Craftee does not guarantee visibility, placement, or sales of any listing and disclaims any liability for losses or claims arising from the content, presentation, or removal of listings. This policy may be updated, amended, or revised at any time, with changes effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of the Marketplace constitutes acceptance of all updates, and sellers acknowledge that compliance with this policy is a condition of continued access to Craftee’s platform.
5.7 Craftee may, at its discretion, make minor non-material edits to product listings to correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalisation, or formatting errors for the purpose of maintaining marketplace presentation standards. Such edits will not intentionally alter the substance, pricing, specifications, or claims of the product as provided by the seller. Sellers remain solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of their listings.
5.8 Craftee may also modify product categories, subcategories, or tags where reasonably necessary to maintain accurate marketplace organisation, search functionality, and overall customer experience.
5.9 All product listings published on the platform must be clear, accurate, and structured in a way that allows customers to make informed purchasing decisions without requiring additional clarification through private messages.
5.10 Listings must clearly provide:
(a) A detailed and accurate product description
(b) Clear images representing the exact product or available variations
(c) Defined selectable options where variations exist
(d) Accurate pricing information, including what is included in the base price
(e) Size guides or measurement instructions where applicable
(f) Any limitations, exclusions, or conditions that may affect the purchase
5.11 Listings that rely primarily on customers messaging the vendor to determine pricing, specifications, availability, or customisation details are not permitted without prior approval.
5.12 Where a product offers variations, customisation, or variable pricing, vendors may be required to implement structured selection fields, variations, add ons, or an approved deposit and invoicing process to ensure clarity and reduce the risk of disputes.
5.13 All transactions initiated on the platform must be completed through the platform. Off platform payment arrangements are strictly prohibited.
5.14 The platform reserves the right to request modifications, withhold publication, or remove listings that do not meet these standards without notice.
6. Order Fulfilment
6.1 Sellers are responsible for dispatching orders within the timeframe stated in the listing, using secure and appropriate packaging, and complying with shipping regulations. Sellers must provide tracking information where available and notify buyers promptly of any delays or issues. Failure to meet dispatch obligations may result in Craftee issuing refunds on the seller’s behalf, for which the seller is fully financially responsible. Buyers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information and must allow sellers 1–2 business days to respond to inquiries before escalating disputes.
7. Pre-Orders and Custom Orders
7.1 Sellers offering pre-orders or custom orders must clearly indicate estimated dispatch dates, production timelines, and any limitations on modifications. Buyers are responsible for providing accurate and lawful specifications. Sellers are not liable for errors, defects, or delays arising from inaccurate buyer specifications and may limit cancellations or refunds for custom orders once production has commenced, except as required under Australian Consumer Law.
8. Performance and Monitoring
8.1 Craftee actively monitors seller performance, including order fulfilment, buyer feedback, complaints, disputes, and policy compliance. Sellers must promptly address deficiencies and take corrective action as required. Failure to perform may result in warnings, restrictions, removal of listings, suspension, or permanent account termination. Any refunds or resolutions issued by Craftee as a result of seller non-compliance are the sole responsibility of the seller, including associated fees, and may be recovered through deductions, withholding of payouts, or other legal remedies.
8.2 Craftee reserves the right to request updated information, documentation, proof of compliance, or verification at any time.
8.3 Sellers who fail verification, provide false, misleading, incomplete, or outdated information, or fail to respond to requests may have listings removed, accounts suspended, or accounts terminated without notice.
8.4 Sellers must promptly notify Craftee of any material changes to their business, contact details, or compliance status.
9. Intellectual Property and Liability
9.1 Sellers are solely responsible for ensuring that all products, designs, images, and content do not infringe third-party intellectual property rights. Sellers bear full responsibility for the legality, safety, accuracy, and compliance of all products. Sellers agree to indemnify and hold harmless Craftee, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, or costs arising from breaches of this Policy, including product liability, intellectual property infringement, or non-compliance with law. Craftee disclaims all warranties regarding product safety, quality, or fitness for purpose.
10. Compliance
10.1 Failure to comply with onboarding, verification, or insurance requirements constitutes a breach of this Policy.
10.2 Craftee may, at its sole discretion, remove listings, suspend Seller accounts, or permanently terminate Seller access for non-compliance.
10.3 Repeated or serious breaches may result in immediate and permanent termination.
10.4 Craftee does not assume responsibility or liability for Seller products, transactions, representations, or business activities.
10.5 Sellers acknowledge that maintaining compliance and insurance is their sole responsibility and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Craftee from any claims, losses, damages, penalties, or liabilities arising from non-compliance.
10.6 Craftee may remove, hide, restrict, or disable any content, listing, or shop if it is deemed to violate any platform policy, compromise user safety, or breach legal requirements.
10.7 Listings or content may also be removed for breaching the Acceptable Use Policy, Intellectual Property and Copyright Policy, Community Guidelines, or other marketplace rules.
10.8 Misleading or inaccurate content, including false descriptions, misrepresentation of materials or size, deceptive claims about functionality or safety, or inaccurate shop information, may likewise be removed.
10.9 Listings containing offensive, harmful, or inappropriate material, including pornography, sexually explicit content, hate speech, discriminatory language, harassment, violent or threatening imagery, or unsafe materials, may be restricted or removed.
10.10 Craftee may temporarily hide content under review or permanently remove it in cases of severe violations, repeat offences, fraudulent activity, or clear safety or legal risks.
10.11 Sellers must provide accurate, complete, and non-misleading product information, including but not limited to:
(a) Materials and components;
(b) Dimensions and specifications;
(c) Care and usage instructions;
(d) Any relevant safety warnings or risks.
10.12 Claims such as “handmade,” “custom,” “hypoallergenic,” “non-toxic,” or similar representations must be truthful, verifiable, and supported by evidence.
10.13 Sellers must clearly disclose which elements of a product are handmade or custom.
10.14 Misrepresentation of a product’s origin, materials, safety status, compliance, or handmade nature is strictly prohibited.
10.15 Enforcement of this Policy is at Craftee’s sole discretion and does not limit any other rights or remedies available under law.
10.16 Sellers bear full responsibility for the legality, safety, accuracy, and compliance of all products they list or sell.
10.17 Craftee does not manufacture, inspect, certify, or guarantee Seller products and makes no warranties regarding product safety or compliance.
10.18 Sellers agree to indemnify and hold harmless Craftee from any claims, losses, damages, penalties, or liabilities arising from non-compliant products.
10.19 This Policy operates in conjunction with, and does not replace, the Seller Terms, Prohibited Items Policy, Product Safety & Compliance Policy, and all other applicable Craftee policies.
11. Policy Acceptance, Updates, and Governing Law
11.1 Submission of a seller application, continued access, or continued listing of products constitutes acceptance of this Policy. Craftee may update this Policy at any time, and continued use of the Marketplace constitutes binding acceptance of such updates. This Policy is governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and sellers submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales. If any provision is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect. Craftee reserves the right to suspend listings, freeze funds, or restrict accounts immediately where potential violations are identified, without limiting other legal or financial remedies.
