Craftee (“Craftee”, “we”, “our”, “us”) operates an online marketplace for handmade products at https://crafteemarket.com. Craftee is fully committed to maintaining the security, integrity, and confidentiality of all user accounts, personal information, and payment transactions, while providing transparency about the inherent risks associated with marketplace use. This policy explains the measures Craftee implements to safeguard financial data, the responsibilities of both buyers and sellers, and the procedures for detecting, investigating, and responding to fraudulent, unsafe, or unforeseen activity, including Force Majeure events.
1. Payment Security and Fraud Prevention
1.1 All customer payments made through Craftee are processed via secure third-party payment gateways integrated with the WooCommerce platform, including but not limited to Stripe, PayPal, Afterpay, or other providers as enabled from time to time.
Craftee does not directly process or store full customer credit card details. Payment information is handled by the relevant third-party payment provider in accordance with their security standards and terms.
Vendor payouts are made via direct bank transfer to the bank account nominated by the vendor within their account settings. Vendors are solely responsible for ensuring their banking details are accurate and up to date. Craftee is not liable for delays, failed transfers, or losses resulting from incorrect or outdated banking information provided by the vendor.
Craftee will take reasonable steps to protect payment and banking information stored within the platform; however, vendors acknowledge that no electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
1.2 Users must employ valid, authorised payment methods, maintain accurate and up-to-date account and shipping information, and report any suspicious activity immediately. Filing false or abusive chargebacks is strictly prohibited.
1.3 Sellers must use only legitimate bank accounts in their own name, provide accurate fulfilment and shipping details, mark orders as fulfilled promptly, respond to payment inquiries without delay, and may not bypass platform fees or conduct off-platform transactions. Any seller engaging in fraudulent activity may have their account removed immediately.
1.4 Craftee monitors transactions for signs of fraud, including unauthorised account access, unusual purchasing patterns, chargeback abuse, counterfeit listings, and improper use of payment methods. If suspicious activity is identified, Craftee may pause payment processing, temporarily freeze accounts, request verification of identity or orders, cancel transactions, or permanently close accounts in cases of severe or repeated violations. Verification may involve email confirmation, phone verification, verification of payment methods, and additional identity checks where legally required. Failure to complete requested verification may result in delayed or blocked payment processing.
1.5 In the event of a buyer-initiated chargeback, Craftee will provide the payment processor with all available evidence. The affected seller’s payout may be withheld until the dispute is resolved, and if the claim is upheld, the disputed amount may be deducted from the seller’s account balance or next payout. Dishonest or abusive chargebacks will result in immediate account suspension.
2. Platform Security Measures
2.1 Craftee employs comprehensive platform security measures to protect accounts and data. All data transmitted between users and Craftee servers is encrypted using industry-standard SSL/TLS protocols. Sensitive administrative areas are protected by enhanced security controls. Servers and backend systems are hosted with reputable providers that implement strong physical and network security, limit access to authorised personnel, and maintain regular backups. Internal access is strictly role-based and logged, with multi-factor authentication applied wherever possible. Routine security scans, monitoring for vulnerabilities, timely software updates, and patching are conducted consistently. Third-party applications and integrations undergo rigorous vetting, and only essential data is shared with them.
2.2 Users are responsible for maintaining strong, confidential passwords, using secure devices and browsers, logging out after each session, updating credentials promptly if compromise is suspected, and reporting any suspicious behaviour immediately. Craftee monitors accounts for unusual activity and may temporarily lock or require password resets if compromise is suspected. While Craftee implements robust safeguards, users acknowledge that no platform can guarantee absolute security, and inherent risks remain.
2.3 Craftee uses both automated and manual fraud detection to identify unsafe, abusive, or prohibited behaviour, including fraudulent listings, account takeovers, and repeated policy violations. Accounts may be suspended, restricted, or terminated in accordance with Craftee’s Account Suspension & Termination Policy. In the event of a suspected or confirmed security incident, Craftee will investigate promptly, contain and mitigate risks, secure affected systems, notify users and authorities as legally required, and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
3. Risk Disclosure
3.1 By accessing, browsing, or conducting transactions on Craftee, users acknowledge and accept all risks associated with marketplace use and agree to use the platform responsibly. Craftee hosts independent sellers and does not manufacture, own, or control the products sold. Craftee does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of information provided by sellers and is not responsible for the actions, claims, or conduct of sellers or buyers.
3.2 Products sold on the platform may contain inaccuracies, omissions, natural variations inherent in handmade items, undisclosed allergens, or potential safety hazards if products are defective or misused. Buyers are solely responsible for evaluating the suitability and safety of products for their intended purpose and are strongly encouraged to read listings carefully and communicate with sellers prior to purchase.
3.3 Transactions conducted online carry inherent risks including shipping delays, damage in transit, products failing to meet expectations, miscommunication between buyers and sellers, limited availability, or sudden changes in stock. Craftee facilitates the marketplace but is not liable for losses arising from these risks.
3.4 Use of Craftee involves digital, technical, and security risks, including unauthorised account access, service interruptions, downtime, technical faults, maintenance or update delays, and cyber incidents. While Craftee implements industry-standard security measures, uninterrupted or error-free operation cannot be guaranteed. Payment-related risks include processing delays, chargebacks, disputed transactions, refund limitations under platform policies, and the potential for fraudulent or unauthorised transactions. Users are responsible for ensuring the security and accuracy of their payment details.
3.5 Users must comply with all applicable legal obligations, including tax requirements, import or customs regulations, product safety responsibilities, consumer law compliance, and intellectual property laws. Craftee is not liable for any breaches of law committed by users. Sellers acknowledge that operating a business on Craftee may involve variability in sales volume, market competition, buyer disputes, account suspension or termination for policy violations, and changes to platform fees, systems, or policies. Craftee is not responsible for any business losses or changes resulting from marketplace use.
3.6 Craftee provides the marketplace platform only and does not guarantee specific outcomes. Craftee is not liable for actions, omissions, or errors of third-party sellers, buyers, or service providers. Users engage with the marketplace at their own risk. All statutory rights under Australian Consumer Law remain unaffected.
4. Force Majeure
4.1 Craftee may be impacted by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, extreme weather, fires, floods, earthquakes, epidemics or pandemics, public health emergencies, acts of war, terrorism, riots, civil unrest, government interventions, strikes or labour disputes affecting Craftee or its service providers, power outages, internet or system disruptions, cyberattacks, and failure or delays of third-party service providers, including shipping, payment, or hosting services.
4.2 In the event of such a Force Majeure Event, Craftee may suspend or restrict platform access, delay or modify order processing, shipping, or delivery timelines, limit platform features or services, or temporarily remove or hide listings. Craftee will make reasonable efforts to resume normal operations as soon as practicable. Users are expected to monitor communications, take reasonable steps to mitigate risk of loss or delay, and communicate promptly with affected buyers or sellers. Craftee cannot guarantee the performance of third-party providers impacted by Force Majeure Events.
4.3 Craftee is not liable for any loss of income, profits, business opportunity, goods, listings, delays, disruptions, or any other direct or indirect losses arising from Force Majeure Events, whether affecting Craftee directly or through third-party providers. Users are expected to monitor communications, take reasonable steps to mitigate risk of loss or delay, and communicate promptly with affected buyers or sellers. Craftee cannot guarantee the performance of third-party providers impacted by Force Majeure Events, including shipping, courier, payment, or hosting services.
5. Liability Limitations
5.1 Craftee’s total liability for any payment-related or marketplace claim is strictly limited to the amount paid to Craftee in the twelve months preceding the claim, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
5.2 Craftee is not liable for losses arising from payment processor outages, banking delays, fraud caused by user negligence, incorrect shipping information provided by buyers, actions, omissions, or errors of third-party sellers, buyers, or service providers, or losses due to Force Majeure Events.
6. Reporting and Updates
6.1 Users must immediately report any suspected account compromise, security vulnerability, fraudulent activity, or unsafe platform behaviour to admin@crafteemarket.com.
6.2 Continued use of Craftee constitutes acceptance of this Payments, Security & Risk Policy. Craftee may update this policy at any time, with revisions effective immediately upon posting. By using Craftee, users acknowledge that they have read, understood, and accepted the measures, risks, and limitations of liability described herein.
